This is the first time that I followed exactly the directions of a pattern in a book. The book is called "Stack a New Deck" by Karla Alexander, and the pattern is called "Funky Curvy Rail." I really enjoyed making this. It was also the first time I used curved lines extensively. I was surprised at how flat the blocks turned out. I would have liked quilting it in an all-over pattern as shown in the book, however, I don't have access to a longarm machine. I thought tying it off with green yarn would emphasize the green grassy feeling. Below is a close-up of some of the blocks.
